Description
Miles Mossop is a notable winemaker within the Western Capearea of South Africa. Established in 2004, this winery is a family business and has vineyards across the Western Cape, aiming to produce elegant and terroir expressive wines refelctive of the land. As gestured to in the name, these wines are an introduction to the Miles Mossop winemaking story, they are fruit foward and fresh whilst maintaining a sense of place and complexity, choosing not to use new wood to keep the vibrant flavours unmasked.
This is a lively red blend made predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon and blended further with Cinsault and Merlot from Stellenbosch, and aged in old oak for 20 months. The colour is a deep cherry red with cassis and blackberry aromas and a touch of herbaceousness. The tannins are fine and integrated with a full body, and juicy red fruit flavours on the palate.
