Description
Salcheto wine estates are certified organic and create wine using minimal interventions in the vineyard and the winery. It is located in the heart of Tuscany, surrounding the Salcheto stream running through the town of Montepulciano. They focus intensely on environmentally friendly practises, using an innovative cellar layoutthat reduces carbon emissions and bottling using the least amount of glass possible.
This Chianti uses only a little oakand is bottled using no additional sulphur. It is a fresh and lively representation of Sangiovese, with the primary fruits on show – ripe red fruits like red cherry and red plum followed by a delicately spiced finish. The tannins are well integrated for a young wine and the body is lighter than expected for this style – perfect to drink on its own or pair with a rich pasta dish such as ragu.
