Francisco van der Niepoort came to Portugal from Holland in 1842 to try his hand at the port trade. Five generations later, Niepoort remains a family business with great-great-grandson Dirk Niepoort establishing it as not only one of the most respected Port houses but also internationally renowned wine producers today. Niepoort’s success with dry wine production has lead the way for the Douro (and for Portugal as a whole) to emerge as a top region on the global stage.
We have long been fans of the inimitable Dirk Niepoort and so we are delighted to now be able to share these great wines with our customers.
Rabbit Dry White is made traditionally with long skin maceration. The final blend includes different wines from different vintages and casks, with an average age of 3 and a half years old.
Intense, nutty, rich and well balanced. Try with tonic water as a summery aperitif or with cheeses at the end of a special meal.
