Description
The Stunning Ornellaia Estate is one of the worlds most iconic producers of super premium Italian wine. Their wines have become known as “Super Tuscans”.
The winery was founded in 1981 along with a maverick bunch of other Tuscan winemakers unwilling to put up with the rigid rules and regulations on which grape varieties they were allowed to make wine from. They wanted to experiment with international grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot amongst others.
They were told that they must not do this -and of course they did! History was made when they unveiled their wines at a tasting event whereby they were highly acclaimed and became known as “The Super Tuscans”
Le Volte has been part of the Seven Cellars line up since we opened in 2014 and there is a very good reason for that. It is a full-bodied and complex wine with bags of vivacity that means its incredibly pleasurable to drink with friends – on its own or with a variety of foods. This wine over-delivers on cost for value and then some.
