Lagavulin 2021 Distillers Edition 2006 Islay Single Malt Scotch

Description

The Lagavulin distillery was founded in 1816 byJohn Johnston. It’s located on the shores of Lagavulin Bay. The whiskies produced are some of the smokiest that you can find, and the long distillation process is believed to give a pronounced richness. The maltings are brought in from Port Ellen.

The distillery ran a two day week until the 1980s which made it hard for demand to be met leading to rarity of some of their whiskies. Now, however, it’s the second biggest selling whisky from Islay.

The 2006 release of the Distiller’s Edition aged in ex Pedro Ximinez sherry casks is the perfect blend of rich candied fruit sweetness and peat.
