Description
Finca La Cayetana is situated in Mendoza at an altitude of 1100m. This location has hot days and cold nights allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and retains freshness.
Criolla Blanca is a grape native to Argentina, not widely known about or grown. These grapes come from decades old vines and haveundergone fermentation and ageing in unlined concrete eggs. Criolla Blanca makes up 90% of the blend, with the final 10% being a mixture of Gewurztraminer, Semillon and Viognier which have been blended together and aged under flor for two years. This is then added to the final wine in the style of a ‘dosage’ addition, creating a layer of complexity and intrigue to the finished wine.
