Description
Four generations at Verhaeghes have overseen the brewing of the distinctive oak aged brown ales that have made the region of West Flanders famous. These ales mature for as long as two years in their collection of oak tuns, repuposed from spirits and fortified wine.
After two stages of fermentation this malt led ale is matured in oak barrels for 18 months the blended with a beer that has been aged for 8 months.
The Duchesse de Bourgogne is charateristically sour whilst being full bodied and fruity with rich flavours oak and malt.
