Founded in 1867, Contratto is Italys oldest producer of Metodo Classico sparkling wine, however, it also produces a range of aromatised wines and herbal liqueurs. Fernet is a type of amaro, or bitter liqueur, often served as a digestif and is produced from a distilled grape spirit infused with herbs and spices. Contratto cold macerate 33 botanicals (18 of which are secret) in their grape spirit for 20 days to produce a wonderfully concentrated and pleasantly bitter liqueur.
