The Cramele Recas Wine Estate is owned by an Englishman and a Romanian, Philip and Elvira. It is a recently modernised estate with plenty of investment althugh vines have been growing here since 1447.

This is a superb value vegan wine which has spent some old oak just to soften the tannins. It is an easy drinking wine with notes of autumn fruits, red berries a hint of spice and lovely soft finish. A great summer red, chill slightly and enjoy with fish or drink at room temperature with a curry or Thai.
Fun fact: Romania is the sixth largest wine producing country in Europe.
