Bee Tree is the boutique Sussex-based wine project owned by Dermot & Ana Sugrue (the couple behind renowned English Sparkling Wine Producer Sugrue South Downs). Whilst Sugrue South Downss main focus was to showcase the purity and minerality of Chardonnay, The Bee Tree single vineyard focuses on red varieties, Pinot Noir and Meunier to produce wines that yield great flavour concentration and depth. Made in small quantities with obsessive care, the wines from Bee Tree show great gastronomic affinity and aging potential.
The estates Blanc De Noir, displays a bright lemon yellow with aromas of apple, biscuit, honey suckle, white peach and baking spices. The palate is gastronomic and moorish, with fine, persistent bubbles, creamy texture and a long and lingering finish. Very complete for such a young wine. The 2021 vintage marks the inaugural release from the winery and with only tiny quantities produced (1800 bottles), this wine is not only delicious but is also a collectors item that marks the first release from this famed single vineyard plot.
