Description
The Baso Sulcis area in which this vineyard lies finds itself in the perfect position for the combination of direct sunlight and warmth to ripen the Carigano grapes, with hot winds being blown across the Sardinian sea from Africa which stabilises the heat. The Agricole Punica brand is a work of passion forGiacomo Tachisand this wine has been described as one of two ‘jewels’ in his wine-making.
Full bodied red wine which is a deep ruby red in colour whilst on the nose it has aromas of blackcurrant and plum with notes of spices. High tannins, well-balanced in acidity, this is a rich and intense red wine in style. On the palate, deep, rich and jammy, complex blend, fruit-driven, flavour of dark fruits, structured, fine texture and balanced, touch of oak. It has a long finish. Pairs with lamb and pork dishes.
